Thank you “Anonymous Giver”!

Since I published my first book, “Cowgirl Up!” in 2012, I’ve been blessed with the support of my family, friends and fans. And some of those family, friends and fans have blessed me with gifts! Yesterday I received an anonymous gift in the mail, and since I don’t know who sent it and I’m not able to thank them with a personal note, I decided to thank them through my blog.

So, thank you, “Anonymous Giver”, whoever you are! And yes, I heart horses too!

I thought this would be a good time to acknowledge some of the other special gifts I’ve received over the years:

IMG_2037 (1)I don’t know where she found this, but my BFF gave me this frame with a copy of my first cover for “Cowgirl Up!” Sadly, I had to change the cover because I found out that even though I thought I had the rights to the photo we used, I didn’t. I was devastated because I would never abuse copyright privileges, and since I wasn’t able to acquire the rights, we changed the cover. A hard lesson to learn as an Indie writer, but since then I make sure I own all the rights to any artwork or pictures on my covers.

Another BFF found this kitchen magnet.  Everyone should have a “Cowgirl Up!” magnet on their fridge, right?  We should start a trend…

I think a sister gave this to me.  I have so many hoof prints, and paw prints, on my heart I’m surprised it still beats.

A true cowgirl friend gave this to me.  And she keeps her oaths…just saying…

I got this from my kids. I guess this means I’m living my sermons.  Wait.  Does this mean I preach too much? Hmm.

Another gift from my kids. This Willow Tree plaque entitled “Quiet Strength – Always There For Me”, has a special place in my heart because my horses and dogs have always been there for me. Well, my kids too, and family, and friends, and sisters, and parents, and fans, but especially my horses and dogs… and cats, and I should stop now…

IMG_2038 (7).JPGMy super duper BFF found this “Cowgirl Tough” sign. I think it’s a hint that I should get off my butt and finish my third cowgirl book with this title or she’s going to give me a sign that says “Cowgirl Lazy”, or “Cowgirl Procrastinator”, or “Cowgirl Get Off Your Butt and Write That Book!”

A big thanks to all my family, friends and fans who found and sent these gifts to me.  So far no one has sent me any neat items for my Lemon Drop Martini series, like martini glasses, shakers, shot glasses or vodka, but feel free any time if the spirit leads you (grin)!

So, happy trails! And until next time I’ll be here in my little cottage on the Front Range of Colorado working diligently on my next book, with or without a Lemon Drop Martini in my hand, but definitely with a horse in my heart and a dog by my side!
